Information Sheet

We are inviting you to take part in our study on primary school physical activity, as we are interested in your views.

We expect this questionnaire will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Please note that it is not possible to go back to a previous page or question.

This work is part of a wider project at University of Bath which aims to understand pupils' physical activity, and look at how schools can be supported to encourage children's physical activity.

The questionnaire includes data from 292 schools, and from over 18,000 primary school pupils, who have worn commercially available physical activity bands during an academic year.

The data shows school hours only, and has been filtered, so that comparisons between pupils and schools are fair. Data has only been included where activity bands have been worn for a long enough period of time during the school day.

The activity bands use accelerometers, which returns step counts and moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA). MVPA comes from higher intensity activities, which cause children to become out-of-breath, or sweaty. E.g. running, but not walking.

Am I suitable to participant in this study?

We want to hear your views if you are a parent/guardian/carer of a child within primary school, or, if you work in a primary school environment, as a teacher, teaching assistant or stakeholder, for example wider school management, trustee, governor, local authority employee, private sector practitioners; anyone who is involved in primary schools.

You do not need to have prior knowledge to part take in this questionnaire.

If you submit your answers you will not be able to return to this page.
